by | Nov 2, 2022 | Lifestyle

Health refers to a state of complete physical and emotional well-being. It is a state of being free from illness or injuries. Unfortunately, this state is often compromised by diseases and lifestyle changes.

At NOWNOW we are passionate about people living their best lives. We understand that most people can handle stress and enjoy longer and active lives as long as they are healthy. Furthermore, if they have easy access to healthcare whenever their health is compromised.

This is why we collaborated with Health Connect 24/7, a leading Telemedicine, Telemonitoring and health management platform to provide easy and unlimited access to medical consultation through the NOWNOW app.

We have also taken a step further to commence a monthly LIVE Webinar – YOUR HEALTH FIRST WEBINAR –  where highly trained and experienced doctors will address crucial health topics, provide answers to health-related questions and help people gain easy access to one-on-one health consultations without having to pay a visit the hospital.

On the 29th of September 2020, we will be going live on Facebook with our first webinar on the topic OBESITY, DIET AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES.

Diabetes is one of the most important non-communicable diseases that is rapidly increasing across the globe. According to International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Diabetes Atlas, by end of 2013, there were 382 million (or 8.3% of the adult world population) people worldwide with diabetes of which 80% live in low-and-middle-income countries; this number is estimated to reach 592 million in by 2035

In sub-Saharan Africa, Nigeria has the highest number of people with diabetes with an estimated 2.8 million people (or an extrapolated prevalence of 3%) of the adult population aged 20-79-year-old.

Such statistics make the disease a topic of relevance. It became necessary for us to put this webinar together to educated people about the dangers of diabetes and emphasize the importance of lifestyle changes that can help in preventing and managing the disease.

Our Health First Webinar on this topic will address the following issues:

What is diabetes?

The different types of Diabetes?

Causes of diabetes?

Dangers of diabetes

Contributing factor to becoming diabetic?

Who is likely to become diabetic?

Signs that someone could become diabetic

Important lifestyle changes needed for the prevention and management of Diabetes

Dieting and Physical Activity

One of the things we have come to realize in our daily interaction with peoples is that these days most people know someone or are related to someone who is diabetic. For this reason alone, we are quite confident that ‘Your Health First Webinar’ powered by NOWNOW, will equip people with the right knowledge to prevent the disease or help someone they know to manage it.

So, we would like to invite you to join our Webinar to discuss the Topic Diabetes, Diet and Physical Activity on Facebook LIVE. September 29th, 2020. It will be worth your time.
